AECOM in Medellin, Colombia, seeks an experienced Associate Director to lead Fire Detection & Alarm Systems for data centers. You will design, model, and integrate FADS with other disciplines, ensuring reliability, scalability, and regulatory compliance in mission-critical environments.

The role requires senior-level expertise in FADS, data center topology, and the ability to guide subcontractors while coordinating with HVAC and electrical teams. Strong English skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BSc in Electrical or Electronic engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience.
• 8+ years of professional experience with a strong focus on data center infrastructure.
• Proficient in designing data center Fire Detection and Alarm Systems and data center automation.
• Extensive knowledge of data centerTier standards and relevant industry standards.
• Strong understanding of local and international regulations (NSR10, NFPA, FM, UL, NEMA, NEC).
• Experience with review of contractor submittals and RFIs.

Responsabilités

• Design of fire detection and alarm systems for data centers, including alarm, detection, monitoring, and evacuation.
• Coordinate with HVAC, access control, fire protection, and electrical systems for integrated operation.
• Perform risk analysis and occupancy classification to define appropriate fire protection technology.
• Support design decisions with technical expertise and review submittals.
• Prepare design documentation, drawings, schematics, and installation details for FADS systems.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Fire Detection and Alarm Systems on site.
