Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate Director of Fire Detection Evacuation & Alarm Systems (Data Centers) to lead the design of FADS for critical data center environments in Bogota, Colombia. The role emphasizes reliable, scalable solutions and cross-disciplinary coordination within a large global firm.

You will drive design decisions, oversee 3D modeling in Revit, and ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements across projects.

Qualifications

• BSc in Electrical or Electronic engineering or demonstrated equivalency with 8+ years of professional experience.
• Proficient in designing data center Fire Detection and Alarm Systems and data center automation.
• Extensive knowledge of data center Tier Topology per Uptime Institute, TIA-942, ANSI/BICSI 002.
• Strong understanding of NSR10, NFPA, FM, UL, NEC regulations.
• Experience with design tools and software from fire detection and alarm system manufacturers.
• Advanced level of English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design fire detection and alarm systems for data centers, focusing on reliability and scalability.
• Coordinate with HVAC, Access Control, Fire Protection, and Electrical systems.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings for compliance.
• Prepare design documentation, schematics, and installation details.
• Supervise testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of FADS systems.
