Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering.
• Hands-on Snowflake experience: data-layer design, performance, and production troubleshooting.
• Advanced SQL + dbt for transformation, testing, documentation, lineage, and controlled deployment.
• Experience with Fivetran or HVR and custom ingestion pipelines.
• Hands-on with AWS data services, especially S3 and event/file ingestion.
• Experience with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes or similar orchestration tools.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering and automation.
• Strong data modeling, dependencies, schema evolution, and data quality practices.
• Observability, logging, alerting, and incident-management for production data platforms.
• Ability to lead incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and preventive improvements.
• Ability to make well-reasoned technical decisions and guide platform improvements.
• Experience mentoring engineers and collaborating with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, Governance.
• Strong written and verbal English communication; able to work with client stakeholders.
• Availability for Pacific Time hours and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership for the Data Platform during LatAm coverage, including L2/L3 escalation.
• Operate and improve Snowflake production and non-production environments with tuning and hygiene.
• Administer data access with least-privilege controls and audit-ready practices.
• Operate data ingestion across Fivetran, HVR, and custom pipelines; coordinate changes.
• Design, build, and maintain reliable pipelines and dbt models across RAW, CURATED, CONSUMPTION.
• Support AWS S3 data-lake workflows and downstream Snowflake workloads.
• Coordinate with Cloud/DevOps for Argo and Kubernetes-hosted workloads; schedule and recover.
• Define and improve data quality and observability standards; monitor freshness and schema drift.
• Expand end-to-end monitoring and lineage using SYNQ, dbt, Snowflake audit data, Splunk, alerts.
• Lead or support major data incidents; perform post-incident reviews and preventive actions.
• Support Tableau Cloud operations when upstream data or connectivity requires investigation.
• Deliver standardization, automation, reliability, performance, and cost improvements.
• Execute work through service-management workflows; maintain runbooks and procedures.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and ensure effective handoffs across the distributed team.
• Participate in Data Platform on-call rotation outside staffed hours.
