BairesDev, a global technology company, seeks a Senior COBOL Developer for IBM mainframes. The role centers on maintaining and modernizing critical COBOL applications, connecting legacy logic with modern needs, and ensuring high-volume processing reliability.

Responsibilities include designing COBOL programs, optimizing with CICS/DB2/VSAM, and automating batch workflows with JCL. English fluency is required, and 100% remote work is offered.

Formación

• 4+ years of Software Engineering with a COBOL focus.
• Proven COBOL maintenance and modernization on IBM mainframes.
• Experience with CICS, DB2, and JCL in mainframe environments.
• Deep understanding of VSAM and batch/online processing.
• Background in banking, insurance, or government sectors is a plus.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain COBOL programs for batch and online mainframe environments.
• Optimize mainframe performance with CICS, DB2, and VSAM for large data transactions.
• Analyze and troubleshoot legacy code to resolve production issues and abends.
• Modernize systems by creating interfaces and data feeds with newer tech.
• Develop and manage JCL jobs to automate batch processing workflows.
• Produce technical documentation including specs and job flow diagrams.
