Formación

• 4+ years in software engineering with a focus on COBOL development.
• Experience maintaining and modernizing COBOL applications on IBM mainframes.
• Proficiency with CICS, DB2, and JCL in mainframe environments.
• Deep understanding of VSAM and both batch and online processing.
• Experience in banking, insurance, or government sectors preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain COBOL programs for batch and online mainframe environments.
• Optimize mainframe application performance using CICS, DB2, and VSAM for large-scale data transactions.
• Analyze and troubleshoot existing legacy codebases to resolve production issues and job failures.
• Modernize legacy systems by developing interfaces, data feeds, and integration processes with newer technologies.
• Develop and manage JCL jobs to automate and streamline mainframe batch processing workflows.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation and job flow diagrams to ensure maintainability.
