MicroSourcing in Bogota, Colombia is seeking a Senior Audit Associate to lead high-quality audits in accordance with U.S. GAAP/IFRS and PCAOB/GAAS. The role requires 3–5 years of audit experience and a CPA or equivalent is highly preferred.

You will supervise junior staff, perform risk assessments, and prepare final audit reports while communicating effectively with international clients and internal teams. This 100% onsite, Monday–Friday position offers an indefinite-term contract.

Formación

  • 3–5 years of audit experience, preferably in a U.S. public accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and GAAS.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent English communication and client-facing skills.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead and execute audit engagements following U.S. GAAP/IFRS and PCAOB/GAAS.
  • Supervise, mentor junior staff, review workpapers.
  • Perform risk assessments, substantive testing, and analytics.

Work setup & shift: 100% Onsite | 40H per week (Monday to Friday)

Your Role

As an Audit Specialist, your analytical precision and leadership demeanor will shine as you execute high-quality audits and make complex financial compliance effortless. On a day-to-day basis, you lead and execute audit engagements in accordance with U.S. GAAP / IFRS and PCAOB/GAAS standards. The solutions you manage are vast, reaching from risk assessments and substantive testing to supervising junior staff and preparing final audit reports. Teamwork and collaboration are key. As part of our audit division, you will collaborate internally and externally to service our client base, ensure compliance with firm policies, and be a positive team player that focuses on precision and professional standards. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Engagement Execution & Standards: Leading and executing comprehensive audit engagements; ensuring all procedures strictly adhere to U.S. GAAP / IFRS and PCAOB/GAAS standards.
  • Team Supervision & Mentorship: Supervising, guiding, and mentoring junior audit staff; reviewing workpapers thoroughly and providing constructive feedback to foster team growth.
  • Risk Assessment & Testing: Performing detailed risk assessments, substantive testing, and complex analytical procedures to identify and evaluate financial data.
  • Financial Reporting & Documentation: Preparing precise financial statements and final audit reports with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicating effectively with international clients and internal teams to resolve complex audit issues and maintain project alignment.
What You Need

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of audit experience, preferably gained within a U.S. public accounting firm environment.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills: Strong, fundamental understanding of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, GAAS, and modern audit methodologies. Proficiency in specialized audit software (e.g., CCH, CaseWare, or similar systems).
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to present complex financial findings and resolve audit queries professionally with client stakeholders.
  • Education & Certification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field. A CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification is highly preferred.
  • Core Competencies: Ability to work completely independently and manage multiple audit engagements simultaneously; strong attention to detail; excellent time management and organizational skills under tight compliance deadlines.
