Job summary

Omnicom Global Solutions Colombia is seeking a Senior Accountant to apply US GAAP in preparing timely financial statements and related schedules for a public company. The role requires strong control procedures across accounts payable, accounts receivable and revenue recognition, and reports to the Controller.

The candidate will manage monthly close, journal entries, variance analyses, and management reporting while supporting audits and SOX compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred but not required.
• 6+ years’ experience in managing financial systems, budgets, financial reporting, and data analysis.
• Understanding of US GAAP with an emphasis on revenue recognition.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat (PDF).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and associated schedules in a timely manner to meet monthly accounting reporting deadlines.
• Prepare and submit journal entries to ensure financial statements are maintained in compliance with GAAP.
• Prepare and organize management reports, account reconciliations and analysis of various operating units, departments, and clients.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements.
• Review and approve purchasing card transactions to ensure project allocations and receipts are identified.
• Assist with revenue reporting to determine monthly accruals and deferrals based on client contract agreements.
• Assist with forecasting by updating and actualizing monthly budget files and loading to OneStream and Cognos.
• Prepare monthly variance analyses.
• Process and provide client fee estimation requests.
• Prepare internal and external audit documentation.
• Prepare working capital analyses in collaboration with Billers (AR Collections & WIP).
• Manage credit grade requests for new clients and vendors (Credit Voyager).
• Manage multiple projects and rapidly changing priorities in a collaborative team environment while prioritizing customer service.
• Review and approve monthly Sales & Use tax calculations and payments.
• Backup for offshore Accounts Payable team during local holiday time-off.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to prepare accurate and timely financial reporting and related accounting schedules for a public company. The senior accountant must apply appropriate accounting control procedures in all aspects of the accounting process, including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and revenue recognition. We are seeking an organized, energetic, proactive individual with a team player attitude that desires to work in a fun, dynamic agency positioned in a fast-paced and exciting event marketing industry. The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller.

Responsibilities:
