Job summary

Verdantas seeks an experienced Project Manager to coordinate the engineering design activities for a growing workload. This remote role prefers candidates in San Diego, Houston, or Denver, with duties including client liaison, proposals, and change orders for power delivery projects.

You will oversee budget, schedule, and scope, guiding engineers and drafters while supporting business development and client outreach in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/electrical/mechanical engineering.
• 8-10 years of experience in electric distribution engineering, preferably with utility or consulting firms.
• 4-5 years of project management experience or lead engineer on a project.
• PE license preferred.
• PMP certification a plus.
• Experience working for major Investor-Owned Utilities in the United States.
• Proficiency in distribution modeling tools (AutoCAD, GIS, CYME).
• Strong knowledge of NESC, NEC, and utility design standards.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling and monitoring of project progress.
• Communication and coordination with the client.
• Selling new work and other business development tasks like client outreach.
• Drafting proposals for new work and change orders.
• Creating and tracking project budgets; resource allocation.
• Serving as the main point of contact for engineers, drafters, and designers.
• Approving and editing timesheets for direct reports.
• Directing internal and external meetings on project scope and schedule.
