Job summary

Backblaze is seeking a Remote Full-time Systems Administrator/SRE to act as the first line of defense for customer-affecting issues. You will drive real-time incident resolution, manage post-mortems, and oversee monitoring alerts across key platforms.

The role requires 2–4 years in Linux/SRE environments and strong automation skills. You will work on infrastructure health, code deployments via Jenkins, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability across our global data

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of hands-on experience in Systems Administration, Linux Operations, or SRE environments.
• Strong foundational understanding of Linux systems and networking concepts.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for customer-affecting technical issues and lead real-time incident resolution.
• Adhere to incident management protocols and drive post-mortems to capture process improvements and root-cause analyses.
• Monitor and respond to alerts from Zabbix, Grafana, and OpenSearch; manage remediation steps or escalations.
• Ensure health and reliability of storage pods and infrastructure; define and refine monitoring and alerting rules.
