Freedom Health Systems, Inc. seeks a Medical Biller & Coder (Contractor) for a Colombia-based remote engagement supporting outpatient mental health clients. The role follows U.S.

billing practices and requires accurate coding, timely claim submission, and strict data security through a dedicated AWS Workstation. You will work with a team lead, align with Eastern Time hours, and maintain audit-ready records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years of U.S. medical billing and coding experience.
• Outpatient mental health or behavioral health billing experience preferred.
• Proficient in CPT, ICD-10-CM, and basic HCPCS coding.
• Familiarity with U.S. insurance, Medicaid, and managed care billing processes.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience working in secure virtual workstation environments preferred.
• Professional coding certifications (CPC or equivalent) preferred.

Responsabilités

• Review clinical documentation to confirm required elements before billing.
• Assign CPT, ICD-10-CM codes based on documentation.
• Enter charges into billing system.
• Submit claims timely and in compliance with payer requirements.
• Verify patient demographics and payer details prior to submission.
• Identify and correct claim rejections, coding errors, and data entry issues.
• Support denial resolution and escalate issues through Team Lead.
• Maintain audit-ready billing records and supporting documentation.
• Communicate documentation gaps to Team Lead.
