Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Engineer for Security & Controls in Bogotá, Colombia. You will design integrated security systems for data centers and commercial facilities, coordinating with architects, engineers, and operations to deliver robust access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and associated automation.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant tech field and 6+ years in security design with strong AutoCAD/Revit skills, plus English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technological field; 6+ years of security design/building automation experience.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit or equivalent.
• English at an intermediate level (written and spoken).
• Desirable: knowledge of the AIA design process.
• Preferred: industry security certifications PSP, CPP, CISSP, NFPA, ESS, EN or similar.
• Experience with software tools including Revit, AutoCAD, Visio Professional, Bluebeam Revu, MS Project and MS 365 suite.

Responsibilities

• Design security systems for data centers and commercial facilities.
• Identify risks and threat models for layered security strategies.
• Define security zoning and access policies and workflows.
• Coordinate with architecture, electrical, ICT, and operations teams.
• Develop drawings and technical specifications; ensure compliance with codes and standards.
