Job summary

AECOM Bogotá is seeking a Structural Engineer with demonstrated expertise in the structural design of buildings, with a strong emphasis on data center facilities, to join its Bogotá, Colombia office.

The responsibilities include designing concrete and steel systems, developing calculations, ensuring quality management, and collaborating across disciplines to deliver high‑quality projects. The role requires advanced English and prior international standards experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
Minimum of 4 years of proven technical experience in structural engineering with concrete/steel design.
Solid knowledge of structural analysis and design principles for reinforced concrete and steel.
Familiarity with ASCE, AISC, ACI.
Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000/ETABS, and AutoCAD; BIM experience is a plus.
Advanced technical English both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Participate in the structural design of buildings and data centers, developing models and calculations.
Perform concrete and steel design to meet load, vibration, redundancy, and constructability requirements.
Ensure projects comply with the company’s quality management system.
Collaborate across engineering disciplines and with external partners to deliver quality projects.
Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
