To help grow our Bogotá branch, we are looking to fill the following position:

Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who has experience in freight forwarding industry and deep knowledge of ocean freight. Knowledge of air and road transport is desirable.

You are a hands-on operations team leader and have the drive and the skill to inspire, coach and develop people. You can identify commercial opportunities and translate them into wins for the future. You are an expert in communication and deliver excellent service to customers and other subsidiaries within our group. The ideal candidate will also manage larger accounts from start to finish, including booking, documentation, and invoicing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support a team of transport coordinators in their daily operations.
• Motivate, coach, and develop team members to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
• Act as an experienced people manager to build team performance and cohesion.
• Oversee and manage day-to-day operational activities within the transport department.
• Ensure smooth execution of transport operations from A to Z (end-to-end process).
• Maintain close follow-up with clients regarding their transport activities.
• Handle and resolve client complaints effectively and professionally.
• Manage transport files thoroughly, including documentation and compliance.
• Control margins and ensure profitability of operations.
• Handle invoicing accurately and in a timely manner.

Strategy & Business Development

• Contribute to the development and execution of operational strategies.
• Identify improvement opportunities and implement changes to increase efficiency.
• Drive initiatives that support revenue growth and operational profitability.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience in the freight forwarding industry with depth knowledge of ocean freight operations.

- Strong interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional and international relationships.

- Document Handling: Proficiency in using and applying forwarding documents.

- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English.

- Customer Focus: A commitment to going the extra mile for customers and achieving the best possible outcomes.

- Technical Skills: Proficient in computer use and quick to learn new and customized operating systems.

- Fluent in English (spoken and written) is mandatory; additional languages are a plus.
