Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Mid-level Data Engineer in Cartagena, Colombia to build and maintain dbt pipelines and Snowflake data marts behind customer-facing reporting and analytics.

You will work with ingestion tools like Airbyte or Prefect, translate complex procurement logic into maintainable pipelines, and help shape semantic layers and APIs for data access. The role requires strong SQL, Python, and cloud data warehouse experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in analytics engineering or data engineering on production pipelines.
• Solid dbt experience: modeling, tests, macros, and incremental models.
• Strong SQL and working Python.
• Data modeling fundamentals: dimensional modeling and data marts.
• Experience with a modern cloud warehouse (Snowflake preferred).
• Experience with ingestion tooling and orchestration (Airbyte, Prefect, or equivalents).
• Familiarity with agentic coding tools and guardrails around their output.
• Deep curiosity about the business and how data is used by customers.
• Software engineering discipline: Git, code review, CI/CD.
• Ability to take a multi-sprint piece of work from spec to production.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dbt pipelines, data marts, and warehouse models for reporting and analytics.
• Translate procurement logic into reliable, tested pipeline code.
• Develop data models following grain and conformed dimensions.
• Contribute to semantic layer and API services for data access.
• Maintain boundary between PII and reporting-safe data.
• Develop FastAPI services for reporting marts.
• Ingest data via Airbyte, OneSchema, and S3 and support onboarding.
• Implement data quality checks and alerting.
• Document lineage and ensure data definitions are clear.
• Tune Snowflake performance and cost.
