Job summary

MarketFully is seeking a Localization Engineer to bridge our translation team and platform operations. You will ensure translation tools stay up and run smoothly while analyzing content to identify repetition and patterns to optimize costs.

Join a fully remote role with exposure to multilingual content and a range of client websites, engines, and in-house tools. Training will be provided to learn our proprietary platform and processes.

• Ability to read and understand HTML and explain technical concepts to non-technical teammates.
• Willingness to learn new systems as all tools are built in-house.

Responsibilities

• Keep in-house translation tools up, available and working properly for the translation team.
• Review content in the translation queue and spot patterns of repetition.
• Use regex and reserve terms to translate repeated content once and reuse it, reducing costs for customers.
• Collaborate with translation account managers to improve content handling and train them on the tool.

The role

MotionPoint translates websites for some of the world's biggest brands, and our technology is what makes that fast and cost-effective. As a Localization Engineer, you'll be the link between our translation team and our platform engineering team, making sure the tools behind every translated website run smoothly.

You’ll be working on a range of clients' websites. That means exposure to a huge range of sites and technologies, working out how each one is built and how our technology can translate it more efficiently.

What you'll do

Keep our in-house translation tools up, available and working properly for the translation team

Review content coming into the translation queue and spot patterns of repetition, such as product names in a checkout message or lists of materials

Use regular expressions and our "reserve terms" technology to translate repeated content once and reuse it, so our customers pay less. This is one of the things that sets us apart from our competitors.

Work with translation account managers to improve how content is handled, and train them on what's happening technically in the tool

Turn feedback from the translation team into clear requests for our product team

What we're looking for

You don't need to be a developer. This is a technical role where curiosity and the ability to learn matter more than knowing a particular tool.

You can read and understand HTML

You pick up new systems quickly. All our tools are built in-house, so everyone learns them from scratch, and we'll train you.

You can explain technical issues in simple terms, both to translation colleagues and to the product team

You have an analytical mind and enjoy spotting patterns

Nice to have

Experience in translation or localization, for example as a translation account manager, localization specialist or translator with a technical interest

Regular expressions (regex)

Experience with any CAT or translation management tool
