Job summary

WSP Colombia is seeking a Principal Detailer for high-voltage lattice transmission towers to support 765 kV HVAC projects. You will develop detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings, coordinate with engineers and fabricators, and ensure constructability and QA/QC across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• 15-20 years of post-education experience in transmission lattice tower detailing.
• Experience with steel transmission lattice tower detailing at 345 kV HVAC.
• Expert working knowledge of ASCE 10, ASCE Manual 74, NESC.
• Ability to detail complete lattice towers in 3D using Bocad or Tekla.
• Ability to read imperial unit drawings and technical specs.
• Strong QA/QC, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to mentor junior detailers and coordinate teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Principal Detailer for high-voltage HVAC lattice towers.
• Develop and oversee lattice tower models, drawings, BOMs.
• Prepare and validate 2D/3D models, fabrication packages and erection drawings.
• Use AutoCAD, MicroStation, Bocad, and Tekla for detailing.
• Review calculations, drawings, specs, and as-built information for accuracy.
• Coordinate with engineers, fabricators, contractors to resolve issues.
• Develop detailing solutions for connections, foundations, and constructability.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of models, drawings, packages, and plans.
• Ensure detailing complies with ASCE, AISC, NESC, and client standards.
• Mentor junior detailers and provide CAD/Bocad guidance.
