Job summary

AECOM in Bogotá, Colombia seeks a Senior Engineer - Transmission Lines (T&D) to join our Transmission & Distribution team, supporting major HV/EHV projects from feasibility through detailed design.

You will lead designs for 132 kV to 765 kV+, perform PLS-CADD modelling, prepare route alignments, tower spotting, and liaise with structural, geotechnical, and electrical teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical) with +4 years of HV (132kV+) overhead line transmission design exp.
• Proven experience on HV/EHV transmission line projects (132 kV-765 kV+)
• Experience delivering design packages across multiple project phases
• Strong knowledge of conductor and structure mechanical behavior, clearance and safety, routing and tower spotting
• Advanced experience using PLS-CADD / PLS-TOWER / PLS-POLE

Responsibilities

• Execute designs and deliver engineering for HV/EHV overhead transmission lines (132 kV-765 kV+).
• Develop deliverables including route alignments, tower spotting, conductor and earth wire selection, insulator configurations.
• Define clearances, right-of-way requirements, and design criteria per applicable standards.
• Provide input to tower loading calculations and structural design teams.
• Lead PLS-CADD modelling and transmission line layout for complex projects.
