WSP USA is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to contribute to renewable energy projects and substations in Colombia. You will design, review, and coordinate electrical deliverables while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes collaboration, adherence to standards, and support for service proposals. Fluency in English is required; French is a plus. The position may involve site activities and client-facing technical work.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in renewable energy project design (solar, wind, BESS).
• Electrical engineer designation in at least one Canadian province is an asset.
• Experience with ETAP, Easy Power, CymCap, PSCAD, PSS/E, CDEGS, WinIGS, etc.
• Experience in high and medium-voltage substation design.
• Experience in medium-voltage collector network design.
• Familiar with interconnection requirements on Canadian networks.
• Strong collaboration with stakeholders and excellent communication skills.
• English proficiency (B2-C1) mandatory; French (B2-C1) desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Produce and coordinate detailed engineering deliverables (drawings, studies, specs, calculations).
• Perform technical reviews and QC of deliverables from others per internal processes.
• Provide technical supervision to junior engineers, EITs, or technicians.
• Participate in site activities including construction support, site visits, and commissioning.
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams for technical consistency and schedules.
• Support market development team with service proposals.
• Contribute to technical reviews or due-diligence assignments under supervision.

As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer - Renewable Energy , you will play a key role in the design and delivery of sustainable solutions, working closely with multidisciplinary teams across Canada.

This position can be based out of our Québec City or Montréal offices.

Your Impact

• You will actively participate in the electrical design of renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS) and medium-and high-voltage substations.

• You will produce and coordinate detailed engineering deliverables (drawings, technical studies, specifications, calculations).

• You will perform technical reviews and quality control of deliverables prepared by other engineers and technicians, in accordance with internal processes.

• You will provide technical supervision to junior engineers, EITs (Engineers-in-Training), or technicians, including technical guidance as required.

• You will participate in site activities, including construction support, site visits, and commissioning, depending on the projects.

• You will collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical consistency, schedules, and the quality of proposed solutions.

• You will provide technical support to the market development team as part of the preparation of service proposals.

• You will contribute to technical review or due-diligence assignments, under the supervision of a senior expert or team lead.

The skills that set you apart

• You have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

• You have at least 5 years of experience in the design of renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS).

• You hold your electrical engineer designation in at least one Canadian province (an asset).

• You have experience with design software such as ETAP, Easy Power, Cymcap, PSCAD, PSS/E, CDEGS, WinIGS, etc.

• You have experience in high and medium-voltage substation design.

• You have experience in a medium-voltage collector network design.

• You are familiar with industry-recognized standards and interconnection requirements on various Canadian networks.

• You are known for your ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

• You demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• English proficiency (B2-C1) is mandatory

• French proficiency (B2 - C1) is desirable.
