WSP Colombia is seeking a Building Mechanical Designer/Engineer to join our Building Division. You will contribute to HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design for healthcare, institutional, commercial, and data center projects across Colombia.

Preferred candidates hold a Mechanical Engineering degree, have hands-on experience with building mechanical systems, and are fluent in English and French. A valid driver’s license and knowledge of codes are required or assets.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with ventilation, heating, cooling, plumbing and fire protection.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Proficiency in French and English.
• Familiarity with codes and standards (ASPE, ASHRAE, NFPA) is an asset.

Responsabilidades

• Actively participate in design and delivery of projects.
• Perform site surveys and assist with concepts as required.
• Prepare conceptual studies and estimate construction costs.
• Ensure plans comply with guidelines, codes and WSP design standards.
• Coordinate design with Project Manager and Discipline Lead.
• Collaborate with production, admin, and construction supervision teams.

What You Can Expect to Do with Us:

• Actively participate in the design and delivery of projects.
• Participate in technical site surveys, as required.
• Prepare conceptual studies.
• Estimate project construction costs.
• Perform design calculations and ensure plans comply with guidelines, code requirements, regulations, and WSP design standards.
• Participate in the preparation of plans and specifications based on directions provided by the Project Manager or Discipline Lead.
• Coordinate the design of your discipline with other professionals.
• Collaborate with the production team, administrative support team, and construction supervision team.

What You Will Bring to WSP:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in building mechanical systems (ventilation, heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and fire protection).
• Valid driver's licence.
• Proficiency in French, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Dynamic and motivated personality.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong autonomy and commitment to quality work.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASPE, ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.) is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of software such as ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud), Procore, K-Ops, etc. is considered an asset.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
