Job summary

WSP in Colombia is seeking a Civil Engineering-in-Training to support municipal infrastructure projects, including roadways and water systems, through design and field review.

You will contribute to the full project lifecycle, applying AutoCAD Civil 3D, performing hydrologic calculations, and preparing reports and permits with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Experience with or strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of municipal engineering design principles including grading, stormwater management, water distribution, and sanitary systems.
• Familiarity with hydraulic and stormwater modeling software is considered an asset.
• Strong technical writing skills for clear engineering reports and field review documentation.
• English proficiency required; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, profiles, and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Perform hydraulic, stormwater management, grading, and earthwork calculations for project design.
• Assist in preparing engineering reports, memoranda, and permit applications for approvals.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, contractors, and senior engineers to advance projects.
• Conduct field reviews and site inspections to verify construction compliance.
• Document site progress and deficiencies through field reports and photos.
• Witness and record QA testing activities such as soil compaction and concrete testing.
• Support development of sustainable and resilient municipal infrastructure.

Your Impact

• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, profiles, and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D for municipal infrastructure projects.
• Perform hydraulic, stormwater management, grading, and earthwork calculations to support project design and delivery.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering reports, technical memoranda, and permit applications for municipal and regulatory approvals.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, contractors, and senior engineers to advance projects from concept through construction.
• Conduct field reviews and site inspections to verify construction compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
• Document site progress, observations, and deficiencies through detailed field reports and photographic records.
• Witness and record quality assurance testing activities, including soil compaction, concrete testing, and other construction verification processes.
• Support the development of sustainable and resilient infrastructure that positively impacts local communities and future generations.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
• Experience with or strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of municipal engineering design principles including grading, stormwater management, water distribution, and sanitary systems.
• Familiarity with hydraulic and stormwater modeling software is considered an asset.
• Strong technical writing skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise engineering reports and field review documentation.
• Effective communication and coordination skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors.
• French language is an asset.
• English language proficiency (written and spoken)
