Job summary

Jeeves is seeking a hands-on Underwriter in Bogotá to assess credit applications from startups and SMBs, using both traditional analysis and AI-supported workflows. You will monitor portfolios, draft credit memos, and collaborate with Sales and Account Management in Colombia.

You will work with senior underwriters to build judgment, expand the Colombia book, and help shape underwriting guidelines in a fast-growing fintech environment. Fluency in Portuguese and English is required.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting or credit risk in Colombia.
• Hands-on experience reading and analyzing Colombian company financial statements.
• Working familiarity with Colombian credit data sources (Serasa, Boa Vista, SCR) or similar.
• Experience writing concise credit recommendations that non-credit colleagues can follow.
• Fluent in Portuguese and professionally fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Analyze new corporate card applications from Colombian startups and SMBs, reviewing financial statements and internal model scores.
• Prepare clear credit recommendations with proposed limits and key risks.
• Explain how model scores fit with non-model parts of the assessment in writing and verbally.
• Research borrowers and industries to understand factors affecting repayment ability.
• Handle a share of the daily application queue within turnaround times.
