Job summary

Jeeves is seeking an Underwriter for the Colombia book to analyze startup and SMB applications, draft credit memos, and monitor portfolio health. You’ll work with AI tools to augment analysis while maintaining judgment and final recommendations.

Based in Bogotá, you will join a growing fintech team and collaborate with Sales and Account Management. This role offers hybrid work with 2–3 days in the Parque de la 93 office and a clear path to senior underwriting as the book scales.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting or credit risk in Colombia.
• Hands-on experience reading Colombian financial statements and assessing repayment capacity.
• Familiarity with Colombian credit data sources (Serasa, Boa Vista, SCR or similar).
• Ability to discuss questions with clients to clarify financial/risk data.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills for simple analyses.
• Experience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) in analysis.
• Ability to write concise credit recommendations for non-credit colleagues.
• Fluent in Portuguese and professionally fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Based in Bogotá and able to work hybrid from Parque de la 93 office.

Responsibilities

• Analyze new corporate card applications from Colombian startups and SMBs, reviewing financial statements and our internal model score.
• Prepare clear credit recommendations with limits, risks, and mitigants for review.
• Explain model and non-model assessment fit in writing and verbally.
• Research borrowers and industries to understand paying ability.
• Manage a share of the daily application queue within turnaround times.
• Run periodic reviews of existing accounts and monitor portfolio health.
• Flag accounts needing attention and partner with Collections on stressed cases.
• Assist in building AI workflow improvements and validate outputs.
• Document underwriting guidelines and decision rationale.
