Job summary

Octus, a leading provider of credit intelligence, seeks a Research Associate to support its Global Covenants team in Bogotá. The role focuses on US leverage finance and high yield markets under senior lawyers, with a strong emphasis on applying AI to research and analytics.

The position offers a hybrid work model based in Bogotá and requires a law degree with international experience, fluent English, and a passion for finance and data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Requires a law degree from a Colombian university or an LL.M/J.D. from an American university with 4+ years post-qualification experience.
• Strong English with business/legal terminology; CV should be in English.
• Excellent writing and analytical skills; ability to distill complex content.
• Intermediate Excel & PowerPoint skills; ability to present data clearly.
• Experience with leveraging finance, capital markets, or credit research is a plus.
• Interest in applying AI to legal research and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of support for senior lawyers on research, drafting, and analysis needs.
• Develop deep knowledge of Octus Global Covenants offering including people, process, and technology.
• Research, draft, and assist with legal intelligence on leveraged loans, private credit, high yield bonds, and related topics.
• Update covenant analyses as debt instruments evolve.
• Handle subscriber inquiries and escalate complex questions to senior lawyers.
• Perform data extraction and trend analysis using Octus databases, AI, MS Office and Google Workspace.
• Support sales and marketing efforts, organize webinars and training.
• Lead or assist with ad hoc administrative and operational projects.
• Utilize AI tools to create bespoke workflows for research.
