Canonical is hiring a software architect for Canonical LXD and MicroCloud. You will lead the architecture, design and evolution of LXD, and Canonical MicroCloud, combining LXD with Ceph and OVN to create resilient cluster-scale cloud infrastructure.

The role requires expertise in Golang and C, distributed systems, virtualization, networking, and storage, with a track record of technical leadership. This is a home-based position with global travel.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM
• Proven experience in Go and C
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure
• Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities

Responsabilidades

• Lead the LXD and MicroCloud architecture and evolution
• Mentor and advise colleagues in career progression
• Develop in Golang and C; review code from engineers
• Ensure security and performance of the product
• Demonstrate technical leadership across Canonical and communities
• Work from home with global travel twice annually for events
