EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking an Architect / Principal Software Engineer to guide AI engineering teams while remaining hands-on with prototyping and reference implementations.

You will shape reliable, secure, low-latency agentic systems and standards across pods and ensure strict security, observability, and scalable integration with frontend teams. The role requires leading architectural direction, building backend AI services, and mentoring senior engineers.

Formación

• 8+ years of software engineering experience designing and operating distributed backend systems.
• 5+ years of Python experience with FastAPI, AsyncIO, and modern typing practices.
• 2+ years of production experience building LLM-powered systems (LangChain, AWS Bedrock).
• Hands-on with LangGraph including state graphs, loops, and checkpointing.
• Proven leadership in setting technical direction and mentoring senior engineers.
• Strong collaboration with product, security, data, and infrastructure teams.
• Solid AWS production experience (EKS/ECS, Lambda, S3, Docker, Bedrock).
• Strong REST API design with stable integration contracts and streaming patterns.

Responsabilidades

• Set architectural direction across AI pods and balance capability, cost, latency, and operability.
• Design multi-agent workflows and low-latency orchestration for chat and tasks.
• Build backend AI services and reference implementations; define frontend contracts.
• Review code and guide teams to improve engineering quality.
• Establish standards for Model Context Protocol servers, tool schemas, and context management.
