Arup in Bogotá is seeking a Geotechnical Specialist to support the assessment, analysis and coordination of geotechnical aspects for major civil projects. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to interpret ground conditions and develop practical, sustainable solutions for complex ground and infrastructure challenges.

Qualifications include a Civil or Geological Engineering degree and relevant geotechnical experience. Proficiency in Spanish is required; English is desirable.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Relevant professional geotechnical experience for roads, urban infrastructure or civil projects.
• Experience interpreting geotechnical investigation data, soil/rock properties and groundwater conditions.
• Knowledge of soil mechanics, slope stability, earthworks, foundations and retaining structures.
• Experience preparing geotechnical calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, or recommendations.

Responsabilidades

• Compile, review and interpret geological, geotechnical, hydrogeological and seismic information for civil and transportation infrastructure projects.
• Support planning and coordination of geotechnical investigations, including field activities and lab testing.
• Develop ground models and assess subsurface conditions, geotechnical hazards, and their implications for design and construction.
• Undertake or support geotechnical analyses for slopes, earthworks, foundations, retaining structures, excavations and ground improvement.
• Prepare technical notes, calculation packages, reports, specifications, and other geotechnical documentation.
• Coordinate geotechnical inputs and interfaces with roads, drainage, structures, tunnels, utilities, environmental and construction teams.
• Support the review of geotechnical deliverables, technical queries and construction-stage information.
• Participate in site visits and observe field investigations and construction activities.
