WSP en Colombia is seeking an experienced Existing Conditions BIM Modeler to convert laser scan data into accurate Revit models of infrastructure, stations, bridges, and buildings. The role supports design, planning, asset management, and construction by delivering high-quality existing condition models reflecting field conditions.

Formación

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Geomatics, GIS, Surveying, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in BIM modeling, reality capture, survey modeling, or digital delivery.
• Demonstrated experience converting point cloud data into Revit models.

Responsabilidades

• Import, clean, register, and segment laser scan datasets.
• Validate survey accuracy and coordinate systems before modeling.
• Optimize large point cloud datasets for project workflows.
• Manage geolocation and coordinate system alignment between point clouds and project models.
• Develop accurate Revit existing conditions models from point cloud data.
• Create architectural, structural, civil, and MEP elements based on surveyed conditions.
• Model infrastructure assets such as stations, bridges, rail corridors, utility systems, platforms, and buildings.
• Produce models to the specified LOD and project requirements.
• Coordinate existing condition models with design teams.
• Support clash detection and constructability reviews.
• Verify model alignment and shared coordinates across disciplines.

The Existing Conditions BIM Modeler is responsible for transforming point cloud and survey data into accurate, information-rich Revit models representing existing infrastructure, buildings, stations, bridges, and other assets. The role supports design, coordination, planning, asset management, and construction activities by producing high-quality existing condition models that accurately reflect field conditions.

Working closely with survey teams, BIM leads, discipline designers, and project stakeholders, the Existing Conditions BIM Modeler leverages reality capture technologies, point cloud processing software, and BIM authoring tools to produce coordinated models suitable for project planning and design development.

Key Responsibilities

• Import, clean, register, and segment laser scan and reality capture datasets.
• Validate survey accuracy and coordinate systems before modeling.
• Optimize large point cloud datasets for efficient use within project workflows.
• Manage geolocation and coordinate system alignment between point clouds and project models.

Existing Conditions Modeling

• Develop accurate Revit existing conditions models from point cloud data.
• Create architectural, structural, civil, and MEP elements based on surveyed conditions.
• Model infrastructure assets such as stations, bridges, rail corridors, utility systems, platforms, and buildings.
• Produce models to the specified Level of Development (LOD) and project requirements.
• Ensure modeled elements accurately reflect field conditions and available survey information.

BIM Coordination

• Coordinate existing condition models with design authoring teams.
• Support clash detection and constructability reviews.
• Verify model alignment and shared coordinate systems across disciplines.
• Participate in project coordination meetings and issue resolution workflows.

Quality Assurance

• Perform model quality reviews against survey data and project standards.
• Validate accuracy, completeness, and consistency of modeled assets.
• Document assumptions, modeling limitations, and areas requiring further survey verification.
• Maintain compliance with project BIM standards and information requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Technology, Geomatics, GIS, Surveying, Construction Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in BIM modeling, reality capture, survey modeling, or digital delivery.
• Demonstrated experience converting point cloud data into Revit models.
• Strong understanding of survey control, geospatial data, and coordinate systems.
• Experience working on infrastructure, transportation, transit, industrial, or building projects.
