Descripción del empleo

Floridablanca, Colombia | Posted on 07/29/2026

We are seeking Electrical BIM Modelers to join our growing team and support the development of detailed BIM models and construction drawings for electrical prefabrication and field installation in commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects in the United States.

This position focuses on creating accurate, constructible electrical models in Autodesk Revit at LOD 400, or progressing models toward LOD 400, for use in coordinating, fabricating, assembling, and installing electrical systems. The role also includes producing assembly, prefabrication, coordination, and installation drawings directly from the BIM model.

The ideal candidate is an Electrical Engineer with experience developing detailed electrical models. However, we also welcome applications from Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineers, architects, technologists, technicians, and experienced Revit modelers who have relevant electrical BIM experience and are interested in specializing in electrical prefabrication.

Different experience and education levels will be considered. Compensation and responsibilities will be determined based on each candidate’s technical background, BIM proficiency, and relevant project experience.

Requirements
Required experience
  • At least one year of experience using Autodesk Revit for electrical BIM modeling.
  • Experience modeling electrical systems for commercial, industrial, or similar building projects.
  • Experience creating or updating drawings and documentation directly from Revit models.
  • Understanding of BIM coordination and multidisciplinary project workflows.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical plans, specifications, diagrams, and construction documents.
  • Experience working with highly detailed BIM models is required; previous experience with LOD 400 models is strongly preferred.
Must Qualifications
  • Intermediate or advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, particularly in electrical modeling and documentation.
  • Ability to model electrical components accurately using project drawings, specifications, design information, and established BIM standards.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and components such as conduits, cable trays, electrical equipment, supports, hangers, branch circuits, and feeders.
  • Ability to develop organized, accurate, and constructible models that can support coordination, prefabrication, assembly, and field installation.
  • Ability to create plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, and assembly drawings from Revit models.
  • Ability to identify missing information, model conflicts, and constructability concerns and communicate them to the project team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to model and drawing quality.
  • Ability to follow client-specific templates, standards, naming conventions, and modeling procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a structured, production-oriented BIM environment.
  • Minimum B1 English proficiency, with the ability to understand technical documentation, drawings, markups, written instructions, and project-related emails.
  • Previous experience developing electrical BIM models at LOD 400.
  • Experience creating shop drawings, spool drawings, assembly drawings, prefabrication drawings, or field installation drawings.
  • Experience modeling cable trays, conduits, conduit racks, electrical equipment, supports, trapezes, and hangers.
  • Familiarity with electrical prefabrication processes and the level of accuracy required for off-site fabrication and field assembly.
  • Experience with Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Experience working with Autodesk Construction Cloud or BIM 360.
  • Experience coordinating electrical systems with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection models.
  • Experience with U.S. commercial, industrial, data center, semiconductor, manufacturing, or mission-critical projects.
  • Knowledge of Revit families, shared parameters, schedules, filters, worksets, and model organization.
  • Familiarity with U.S. electrical construction practices and the National Electrical Code.
  • Electrical construction, fabrication shop, or field installation experience.
  • Experience working remotely with international or U.S.-based teams.
  • English proficiency above B1 or experience participating in technical meetings in English.
Responsabilities

The Electrical BIM Modeler will develop and maintain detailed electrical models in Autodesk Revit, progressing design and coordination information into accurate, constructible LOD 400 models suitable for prefabrication, assembly, and field installation. The role includes modeling conduits, cable trays, electrical equipment, supports, hangers, branch circuits, feeders, and other required electrical components while accounting for routing, elevations, clearances, accessibility, constructability, and coordination with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

The modeler will produce prefabrication, assembly, shop, coordination, and installation drawings directly from the BIM model, including plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, and material information. Responsibilities also include reviewing clash-detection results, resolving coordination conflicts, incorporating client comments and field information, maintaining accurate model parameters, and identifying missing information or potential constructability issues.

Because these models and drawings may be used to fabricate electrical assemblies and guide their installation in the field, accuracy and attention to detail are essential. The modeler must follow client BIM standards and quality-control procedures, collaborate with BIM coordinators, engineers, prefabrication teams, and field personnel, and meet production schedules while maintaining consistent model and drawing quality.
