FinOps Weekly seeks a Director of Compute & Infrastructure FP&A to lead monthly forecasting for one of the company’s largest cost centers. You will partner with Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Engineering to align capital deployment with growth and develop long-term investment plans.

You will drive scenario modeling, ROI analysis, and performance tracking while presenting insights to senior leadership and shaping infrastructure investment strategy. Flexible work arrangements offered.

Formación

  • 10+ years in strategic finance, preferably in infrastructure, cloud, hardware, or compute-intensive environments.

Responsabilidades

  • Oversee financial planning and forecasting for compute operations.
  • Develop consolidation models for GPU/CPU capacity, storage, networking, and data center investments.
  • Convert infrastructure roadmaps into short- and long-term financial forecasts.
  • Collaborate with Corporate FP&A on timelines and processes.
  • Present monthly insights to senior management and drive infrastructure investment decisions.
  • Evaluate build vs. buy scenarios and vendor vs. owned infrastructure trade-offs.
  • Create frameworks for investment trade-offs to facilitate executive decision-making.
  • Build scalable reporting tools and dashboards to monitor compute expenditure and efficiency metrics.
  • Enhance visibility into unit economics (e.g., cost per training run, cost per customer).
  • Lead budget vs. actual analysis for compute and infrastructure spending.
  • Identify cost drivers and reduce forecast variance.
  • Partner with Accounting for accurate classification of infrastructure expenditures (OpEx vs. CapEx).
  • Translate complex cost structures into clear insights for leadership.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses on emerging topics to support strategic decisions.

Director, Compute & Infrastructure FP&A
About the Role

The Director of Compute & Infrastructure Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will lead the monthly forecasting process for the Compute & Infrastructure organization. This role is essential for managing one of the company's largest cost centers, enabling effective planning and forecasting. You will work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Engineering to develop long-term infrastructure investment plans, evaluate cost-effective options, and ensure capital deployment aligns with business growth. Your involvement will include providing strategic financial insights through scenario modeling, ROI analysis, and performance tracking, which will support leadership in making informed decisions under uncertain conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee financial planning and forecasting for compute operations.
  • Develop and maintain consolidation models for GPU/CPU capacity, storage, networking, and data center investments.

Required Skills
  • 10+ years in strategic finance, preferably in infrastructure, cloud, hardware, or compute-intensive environments.
  • A minimum of 2 years in investment banking.
  • Proven experience leading an FP&A team at a corporate or business unit level.
  • Strong financial modeling capabilities, especially in capacity planning and scenario analysis.
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure or cloud spending (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Proficient in Excel/Sheets, SQL, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau); experience with planning systems like Anaplan is advantageous.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts as financial insights.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure cost drivers.
