Cloudera is seeking a Principal Cloud FinOps Lead to join our Cloud Operations team. The role focuses on optimizing value from cloud investments across AWS, Azure, and GCP by improving financial visibility, governance, and efficiency.

You will establish a data-driven FinOps practice, collaborate with Finance, Procurement, and Product Engineering, and mentor cost owners to drive cost savings, automation, and governance across the global cloud footprint.

Formación

• Significant FinOps and cloud cost optimization experience in a large enterprise.
• Strong understanding of cloud pricing models across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Hands-on expertise with CloudZero or equivalent platforms.

Responsabilidades

• Manage cloud financial operations across AWS, Azure, and GCP, aligning usage and expenditure with business and product objectives.
• Develop and enhance cost governance frameworks, including tagging strategies, chargeback models, budgeting, and commitment management (RIs, Savings Plans).
• Partner with engineering and platform teams to integrate cost-efficiency into architectural designs, CI/CD processes, and overall lifecycle management.
• Lead analysis and reporting using CloudZero, providing actionable insights through dashboards and detailed monthly reviews.
• Collaborate with the Finance team for forecasting, variance analysis, and accurate cost allocation to maintain predictable budgets.
• Create and present business cases for optimization, automation, and migration initiatives.
• Drive the FinOps Champion Programme by mentoring cost owners across departments and fostering a culture of financial accountability.
• Collaborate with Procurement on cloud contracts, renewals, and commercial negotiations.
• Promote continuous improvement through tooling, automation, and educational initiatives that enhance FinOps maturity.

Job Description: Principal Cloud FinOps Lead

About the Role

Cloudera is seeking a Principal Cloud FinOps Lead to join our Cloud Operations team. The primary focus of this role is to optimize the value derived from our cloud investments across AWS, Azure, and GCP by enhancing financial visibility, efficiency, and governance. You will play a pivotal role in establishing a data-driven FinOps practice that empowers both business and engineering teams to make informed decisions, automate processes, and maintain financial accountability. In this senior, hands-on position, you will collaborate closely with various teams, including Cloud Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Product Engineering. Your efforts will drive cost optimization initiatives, strengthen governance frameworks, and help manage Cloudera's global cloud infrastructure effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills

• Significant experience in FinOps, cloud cost optimization, or cloud architecture in a large multi-cloud enterprise.
• Strong understanding of cloud pricing and billing models across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Hands-on experience with CloudZero or equivalent FinOps and cost visibility platforms.
• Proven ability to achieve measurable savings and influence stakeholders across technical and financial domains.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Strong data analysis skills.

Preferred Skills

• FinOps Certified Professional or equivalent certification.
• Background in Cloud Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or IT Finance.
• Experience in implementing cloud financial governance, chargeback models, or automation at scale.
• Familiarity with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and financial forecasting.
• A passion for operational excellence and data-driven decision-making.
