Sentry is seeking an FP&A Manager to build and lead the FP&A function with a strong FinOps focus. You will collaborate with Engineering, Infrastructure, Accounting, and Procurement to translate technical usage into financial models, forecasts, and actionable insights.

FP&A Manager

About the Role

Sentry is seeking an FP&A Manager to help develop its FP&A function and establish strong FinOps practices. The role will focus on cloud infrastructure, AI-related costs, software, vendors, and other major spending areas where improved financial visibility can support better decisions. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, you will partner with Engineering, infrastructure, Accounting, Procurement, and business leaders. You will translate technical usage into financial models, forecasts, reporting, and actionable recommendations. The role combines cloud and AI cost analysis with broader FP&A responsibilities, including planning, expense management, management reporting, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Own forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis for major operating expenses, including cloud infrastructure, AI, software, and vendors.
• Work with Engineering and infrastructure leaders to understand spending drivers and improve unit economics and gross margin.
• Build reporting on cost trends, allocation, unit costs, utilization, commitments, and material variances.
• Model the financial impact of cloud commitments, reserved capacity, vendor agreements, and other commercial decisions.
• Develop a scalable expense-management process that provides budget owners with spending visibility, forecasts, and accountability.
• Support budgets, forecasts, business cases, and financial performance reviews with functional leaders.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting, including budget-to-actual analysis, variance explanations, forecast updates, and accrual inputs in partnership with Accounting.
• Contribute to company-wide planning, headcount forecasting, management reporting, and corporate FP&A activities.
• Develop analyses related to efficiency, cost structure, gross margin, and resource allocation.
• Automate reporting, improve source data, and replace manual or fragmented finance processes with scalable solutions.
• Turn financial analysis into practical actions in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

Required Skills

• At least five years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, technology finance, or a related analytical finance role.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasts, budget-to-actual analysis, and financial partnerships with business leaders.
• Experience creating or substantially improving financial models, planning processes, cost-management processes, or business-partnering routines.
• Experience with business intelligence tools such as Looker, Tableau, or comparable platforms.
• Strong communication and business-partnering abilities, including explaining financial concepts to non-finance audiences and converting analysis into action.

Preferred Skills

• Experience analyzing cloud infrastructure, hosting, AI/LLM, or other usage-based costs.
• Direct FinOps experience.
• Experience with NetSuite and modern FP&A or spend-management platforms.
• Familiarity with cost allocation, showback/chargeback, commitments, and cloud cost optimization.
• FinOps Certified Practitioner certification or comparable training.

• Provide budget owners with expense visibility, forecasts, and accountability.
• Identify opportunities to improve cost-management processes and automate reporting.
