Responsibilities

• Manage Medicaid patient liability balances during application or renewal processes.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements within company guidelines.
• Identify delinquent accounts for escalation, bad-debt write-offs, or third-party collection agencies when necessary.
• Maintain meticulous notes in billing software adhering to HIPAA, FDCPA, and state standards.

Specialist to oversee patient responsibility and private pay balances. In this role, you will

Key Responsibilities

• Patient & Family Engagement: Directly contact patients, family members, power of attorneys (POAs), or legal guardians via phone and mail to discuss outstanding balances and secure payment.
• Private Pay & Patient Responsibility: Resolve self-pay balances, co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance, and private room rate differences in a firm yet empathetic manner.
• Medicaid Collections: Work with residents and families to manage Patient Liability Amount (NAMI/Spend-down) balances and address payment gaps during Medicaid application or renewal processes.
• Payment Plans & Settlements: Negotiate manageable payment arrangements and settlements within company financial guidelines.
• Account Resolution: Identify delinquent accounts for escalation, bad-debt write-offs, or third-party collection agencies when necessary.
• Compliance & Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous notes in the billing software while adhering strictly to HIPAA, FDCPA, and state regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
