CBTW is seeking an experienced Bilingual Accountant to manage the accounting function in Colombia while supporting the North American team based in Canada. The role requires IFRS knowledge, Colombian tax expertise, and proficiency with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.

You will handle daily operations, payroll, taxes, invoicing, and audits, ensuring accurate general ledger, financial statements, and regulatory compliance. Spanish fluency and English proficiency are required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
• Strong knowledge of Colombian tax laws, IFRS, and local regulations.
• Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling proficiency.
• Fluent in Spanish; professional English proficiency required.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze and manage day-to-day accounting operations including payments to suppliers, payroll, taxes, invoicing, collections, and GL reconciliations.
• Support monthly and annual reporting with insights on cost control and risk management.
• Coordinate currency transactions and banking portal management.
• Prepare financial statements and support data-driven decision making for the finance team.
• File local taxes and assist with audits and statutory filings.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Bilingual Accountant This position will be responsible for handle the accounting function in Colombia, while also providing support to the North American accounting team based in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including scheduling and executing payments to suppliers as needed, payroll, taxes, client invoices, collections, and all other company requirements, following established departmental controls and processes. Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and perform regular account reconciliations.
• Support annual and monthly reporting by providing insights and recommendations for cost and financial risk control to ensure the proper management of company resources.
• Request corporate funds for payments according to the scheduled cash flow and negotiate currency transactions with banking institutions to secure the best rates when required.
• Manage banking portals for company expenses, ensuring proper custody and compliance with established procedures.
• Prepare financial statements and analyze accounting information to support data-driven decision-making for the financial management team, in accordance with legal accounting standards.
• Prepare and file local taxes, including corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and alignment with corporate guidelines.
• Work with external auditors during annual financial audits and provide support in accounting and auditing processes, including implementing corrective actions when needed.
• Stay up to date with standards and policies established by state control and oversight entities in accounting, taxation, and commerce, and ensure their implementation within the company.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, especially regarding information security, occupational health and safety, and other corporate standards.
• Provide support for additional activities assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a consulting environment.
• Strong knowledge of Colombian tax laws, IFRS, and local financial regulations.
• Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial modeling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in Spanish; professional proficiency in English is required.
