Vistra + Biz Latin Hub in Colombia is seeking an Accountant to join our team. You will manage a client portfolio, ensure full compliance with accounting and tax regulations, and deliver high-quality financial information with a consultative approach.

This role requires leadership to oversee multiple accounts, guide junior team members, and communicate complex financial matters clearly to clients while maintaining deadlines and quality standards.

Formación

• Professional degree in Accounting or related field.
• 4+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Knowledge of IFRS and Colombian tax regulations.
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns.
• Proficient in ERP systems and Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and mentor juniors.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Intermediate English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee the accounting operations of a client portfolio.
• Review and ensure accuracy of records, reports, and financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Lead preparation and review of financial statements and statutory reports.
• Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns (income tax, VAT, withholdings, ICA).
• Supervise and support junior accountants, providing guidance and quality control.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies and complex accounting issues.
• Support and lead audit processes, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing accounting and tax advisory.
• Manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies.

This role is ideal for a proactive professional with strong technical expertise and leadership skills, able to oversee multiple accounts, guide junior team members, and communicate complex financial matters clearly to clients.

What will you do?

What are we looking for?

• Professional degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 4+ years of relevant accounting experience (preferably in outsourcing or consulting).
• Solid knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and/or local GAAP) and Colombian tax regulations.
• Proven experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior team members.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Intermediate English proficiency - able to independently manage client relationships and communicate effectively in English (both written and verbal).

Nice to have

• Experience in client-facing roles within professional services or outsourcing firms.
• Exposure to tax and statutory audits, including audit process leadership.
• Ability to generate strategic insights from financial data.
• Continuous improvement mindset and experience implementing efficiencies.
