The City of Columbia seeks an experienced Aquatic Manager to lead the Recreation Aquatic Division. The role oversees daily operations, staff hiring/training, and safety across pools and water facilities, while aligning programs with community needs and city goals.

Candidates should have 3–5 years in aquatics, strong leadership, and relevant certifications. Expect collaboration with partners, data-driven planning, and regular reporting to leadership. Willingness to work flexible hours is required.

Formación

• 3–5 years of experience in aquatics with leadership or supervisory responsibility
• Working knowledge of computer software and website maintenance
• 3–5 years of direct, hands-on aquatics experience (lifeguarding, programming, coaching, or WSI)
• Certifications in lifeguarding and aquatic operations must be maintained

Responsabilidades

• Provide management and leadership direction to the Recreation Aquatic Division, including program development and operational oversight
• Oversee operations and maintenance of pools and water facilities with reporting to the Assistant Director
• Coordinate aquatic programs and events such as swimming lessons and swim meets
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of facilities through inspections and maintenance
• Hire, train, and evaluate aquatic staff; manage partnerships and surveys
• Develop and implement goals, policies, and staffing levels for aquatic programs
• Respond to citizen inquiries and emergencies with sound judgment
• Attend professional meetings to stay current in recreation and leisure services
