The GEO Group is hiring a Recreation Specialist to implement and operate a viable recreation program for all detainees. You will oversee recreation facilities and equipment and ensure daily activities run smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities include planning activities, coaching teams, organizing competitions, and conducting safety training. The role requires a high school diploma and experience in physical education or related fields, with GEO Secured Services supporting a secure, structured

• Inspects recreation area for cleanliness and safety.
• Conducts weekly safety training sessions with recreation orderlies and clerks.
• Checks detainees in and out of the gym.
• Maintains recreation department records.
• Orders, maintains, and schedules repair of recreation department equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma required. Additional education in Physical Education, recreational therapy or related field highly desirable.
• Prior experience working with a detainee population or in a physical education program is highly desirable
