Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is hiring an AI Software Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This builder role focuses on production systems atop AI models, not model training.

You will create agentic workflows, integrate with OpenAI/Anthropic, and build internal tools to streamline design and development processes. This role is fully remote for Latin America and South Africa, with a strong emphasis on practical implementation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship internal automation features on top of AI models.
• Develop agent workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate with OpenAI/Anthropic APIs including tool calls and function calls.
• Create production-ready tooling that reduces manual hours across design and development workflows.
• Connect automation pipelines across WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and internal CMS.
