Porch Group, Inc. in Colombia is seeking an Accountant to join our global finance team. This remote role is administered by RemoFirst, Porch Group’s Employer of Record in Colombia. You will perform essential accounting tasks and support the monthly close to ensure accuracy and compliance. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in accounting, 3+ years’ experience, strong Excel skills, and comfort working virtually. NetSuite and FloQast helpful; you’ll partner with US teams during EST hours.

Responsabilidades

• Work independently performing professional accounting activities related to general accounting.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and process monthly/quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare financial data and assist with monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Support SOX/compliance and internal audit processes.

Job Title: Accountant Location: Colombia Workplace Type: Remote. This role is employed through RemoFirst, Porch Group's Employer of Record partner in Colombia. Your employment will be legally administered through RemoFirst, while your day-to-day work is led by Porch Group.

You will utilize your accounting knowledge and experience to ensure best practices and standards are met on a regular basis as Porch builds its internal processes. We have a variety of accountant roles including opportunities in revenue accounting, our insurance division, and shared services (corporate).

What You Will Do As An Accountant

• Work independently, performing professional accounting activities related to general accounting, etc.
• Reconcile account balances for assigned balance sheet accounts to provide underlying support, and either independently or with the assistance of others research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Prepare and process accounting journal entries for assigned accounts within established deadlines.
• Work with others within Accounting, Finance or across the organization as needed to obtain necessary details behind accounting entries or to resolve any discrepancies.
• Prepare assigned flux comments related to the income statement and balance sheet.
• Take initiative to become proficient in general ledger system and other reporting tools to run trial balances or account details to aid in research or refining processes.
• Develop solid understanding of accounting processes and controls.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations as assigned.
• Prepare financial data as directed and assist with preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Support management with ad hoc requests.
• Partner with internal teams to maintain processes and controls related to assigned areas of work.
• Participate in the annual, quarterly, and monthly process with SOX and internal audit teams.
• Ensure compliance with all internal policies, relevant regulations, and accounting principles.

What You Will Bring As An Accountant

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Minimum of 3 years’ work experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
• Ability to work in a dynamic, virtual environment requiring self-motivation and adaptability.
• Prior NetSuite andFloQast experience a plus.
• Proven experience working with US based business teams
• Ability to work within core US business hours / time zone expectations - Eastern Standard Time (EST)
• Shared Services requirements: Knowledge of Fixed Assets, Cash, Accruals, Lease accounting, accounting for Payroll and Accounts Payable, Intercompany Accounting, Prepaids, Capitalized Software and debt.
• Experience working with global and/or US based business teams
• Excellent written and communication skills in English language
• Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload
