Job summary

Trina Solar Co. in Chile is seeking an experienced Field Technical Support & Troubleshooting professional to act as second-level technical support for the FSE Supervisor and Crew within the assigned zone.

You will diagnose root causes of complex faults across BESS systems and coordinate with OEMs as needed, while supporting maintenance planning, availability monitoring, and engineering reporting. The role requires travel to sites, Spanish and English fluency, and strong field and communication

Qualifications

• Technical degree or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in maintenance or engineering of BESS, solar PV, or other grid-connected/industrial energy assets.
• Experience providing technical support to field crews or subcontracted maintenance teams is preferred.
• Willingness to travel to site as required by the assigned zone.
• Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Responsibilities

• Act as second-level technical support for the FSE Supervisor and FSE Crew within the assigned zone.
• Diagnose root cause of recurring or complex faults across BESS systems — batteries, PCS/inverters, BMS/EMS, HVAC and balance-of-plant equipment.
• Escalate to the OEM/equipment manufacturer when a fault exceeds local resolution capacity, and track the case through to closure.
• Support incident response and root-cause analysis jointly with the FSE Supervisor, defining and tracking corrective actions within contractual response times.
• Develop and maintain the preventive/predictive maintenance plan for assets in the assigned zone, incorporating OEM alerts and field observations.
