Vertiv is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead startups, maintenance, and emergency repairs for Vertiv UPS, battery, power distribution and site monitoring equipment. You will maintain excellent rapport with customers, sales teams and distributors and stay in continuous contact with Call Control and the manager.

Your role requires strong field service experience, a proactive approach, and strict adherence to safety and quality policies.

Formación

• HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in a technical service or test environment of AC Power equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Previous field service experience is essential.
• Excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
• Self-starting, with ability to plan, organise and work under pressure.
• Clean, valid driving license.

Responsabilidades

• Respond professionally to all assigned service calls.
• Perform work safely and in line with company policy and codes.
• Ensure spare parts are accounted for per procedures.
• Assist in maintaining 90% maintenance completion rate.
• Schedule and complete work with Call Control using established workflows.
• Keep customer listings accurate and report changes.
• Follow ISO 9001:2000 compliant processes.
• Maintain company vehicle and tools.
• Be part of the service team and complete tasks.
• Submit daily paperwork accurately and debrief at customer premises where possible.
• Be available for weekend and night shifts.
• Report sales or service leads to the proper department.
• Ensure compliance with Export/Import controls and related regulations.

Required to establish, promote and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, salesmen, distributors, and others within the area. Maintain continuous communications with Call Control and the department Manager/Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Respond, in a professional manner, to all assigned service calls while on duty.
• Perform all work in a safe manner and in accordance with established company safety policy.
• Perform all work using good working practice and current codes of practice/legislation relevant to assigned task.
• Ensure spare parts are properly accounted for using established parts procedures.
• Assist in ensuring that the planned maintenance completion rate is maintained at a min 90%.
• Assist call control to schedule, plan and complete any works as required, using established workflow procedures.
• Keep call control informed of your schedule and the status of all open jobs.
• Maintain the accuracy of the customer listing by reporting errors with the site change form.
• Support company vision and management decision.
• Ensure that all ISO 9001:2000 agreed processes are followed.
• Keep company vehicle clean and properly maintained.
• You will be expected to look after all tooling and company property issued to enable the tasks to be carried out.
• Work as part of the service team.
• Follow up and follow through with any and all assigned tasks.
• Submit daily paperwork in a timely, accurate and complete manner and in case of Wireless Field Service ensure the job is debriefed in a complete and accurate manner at the customer’s premises where possible
• Ensure availability to work during weekend and nights
• Report sales or service leads to the proper department via the correct process.
• The employee ensure that any activity, task and responsibility required by role in terms of [Export Compliance], [Import Compliance], [EU Arrivals and Dispatching], as well as [Supply Chain Security] is managed and performed in full compliance with the Company International Trade Compliance Regulation certification program itself

Qualifications

Required/ Minimum Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent
• Experience of working in a technical service or test environment of AC Power equipment essential
• Computer Literate (All office associated programs such as, word, excel, outlook)
• Previous field service experience essential
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong communication skills
• Self-starter, ability to plan, organize and manage time effectively with an ability to work under pressure
• Clean Valid driving license
