Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Santiago seeks a Senior Control Systems Engineer to lead design efforts for mining and metals projects. You will prepare system specifications, coordinate with design teams, clients and vendors, and drive safety and reliability in instrumentation and control architectures.

The role requires 8–10 years of relevant experience, a bachelor’s degree, and strong knowledge of OT networks, fieldbuses, and PLC/PCS integration.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Control Systems architecture for Mining and Metals.
• Experience with OT networks and cyber security in mining.
• Knowledge of Ethernet Network design.
• Experience selecting instrumentation for mining applications.
• Familiarity with fieldbuses (Profibus-DP, Foundation Fieldbus).
• Knowledge of Ethernet/IP and Profinet protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of project control systems and instrumentation.
• Prepare system specifications and IO lists.
• Coordinate engineering efforts with teams, client, and vendors.
• Mentor junior engineers and review work plans.
• Participate in FAT, CAT, and interoperability tests.
