Bluelight Consulting is seeking a Senior Software Architect to design low-latency, secure, multi-tenant systems on AWS. You will lead architecture decisions, mentor teams, and collaborate with clients on complex projects.

The role requires deep expertise in Node.js/TypeScript, PostgreSQL/AuroraDB with RLS, and scalable RESTful APIs, with a focus on ADRs and architectural governance. Remote opportunity with international scope is available.

Qualifications

• 8+ years professional software development experience, with 3+ years in an architecture-focused role.
• Designing low-latency service architectures in AWS and distributed components.
• Latency budgets (p95/p99) and durable commits in hot paths.
• Audit/evidence systems with append-only logs and versioned models.
• Fail-open/fail-closed semantics and outage postures.
• Secure multi-tenant architecture tradeoffs (RLS vs schema-tenant).
• Advanced PostgreSQL/AuroraDB with RLS handling.
• Architecting scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations.
• Strong Node.js/TypeScript/JavaScript expertise.
• Cloud cost/performance projections and Well-Architected framework.
• Architecture documentation and ADRs; lead design reviews.
• Mentor engineering teams and present decisions to clients.

Responsibilities

• Design and guide low-latency architectures in AWS for complex systems.
• Lead architecture reviews, produce ADRs, and mentor engineers.
• Ensure secure, multi-tenant designs with cost-aware projections.
