Bluelightconsulting is seeking an experienced software architect to design low-latency, scalable services in AWS, with a focus on secure multi-tenant architectures and ADR-driven decisions.

You will mentor teams, drive architecture reviews, and contribute to architecture documentation while aligning with clients’ security and compliance needs. Remote work is supported and ongoing professional development is encouraged.

Formación

• 8+ years of professional software development experience; 3+ years in architecture-focused role
• Deep experience designing low-latency service architectures in AWS
• Experience with latency budgets (p95/p99) and durable commits
• Experience designing audit/evidence systems with versioned data and replay
• Experience in secure multi-tenant environments and tradeoffs (RLS vs schema-per-tenant)
• Strong expertise in RESTful APIs and SDK integrations
• Experience producing architecture ADRs and technical documentation
• Ability to overlap US business hours
• Bachelor's degree required

• 8+ years professional software development experience, with 3+ years in an architecture-focused role
• Deep experience designing low-latency service architectures in AWS, including judgment about when distributed components (queues, caches, search projections) earn their place
• Experience designing to explicit latency budgets (p95/p99), including synchronous durable commits in hot paths
• Experience designing audit/evidence systems: append-only event logs, versioned or bitemporal fact models, and deterministic historical replay
• Experience designing fail-open/fail-closed/degraded-state semantics and outage postures
• Proven experience architecting secure multi-tenant environments, including tradeoff analysis (RLS vs. schema-per-tenant vs. database-per-tenant)
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and Row-Level Security (RLS) at a data-modeling and architecture level
• Expertise in designing and building scalable RESTful APIs
• Experience architecting SDK integrations to other services
• Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript across the stack
• Experience building capacity models and cloud cost/performance projections (AWS Well-Architected Framework)
• Experience establishing technical standards, conducting architecture and code reviews, and mentoring engineering teams
• Experience producing architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical decision records (ADRs)
• Experience presenting and defending architecture decisions in client engineering and security reviews
• Experience working with AI coding assistants as part of daily development
• Substantial background architecting large, complex systems end-to-end
• Ability to overlap US business hours
