Job summary

BairesDev is seeking a Principal Backend Engineer (Python) to lead backend architecture used by millions of users. This hands-on leadership role involves end-to-end ownership from design to deployment, shaping scalable systems and APIs in collaboration with product and design partners.

You will work with AWS Serverless, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and microservices in a remote, global team with industry-leading compensation and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience with Python.
• Hands-on AWS Serverless (Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, API Gateway) experience.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Proficiency in microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform).
• Excellent English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend architecture on AWS serverless infrastructure.
• Own complete features end to end, from design through deployment.
• Design microservices and event-driven systems that scale with demand.
• Define infrastructure as code practices to support consistent, repeatable deployments.
• Design APIs consumed by web and mobile applications.
• Partner with product and design teams to shape the technical roadmap.
