BairesDev is seeking a Principal Backend Engineer (Python) to lead backend architecture for high-scale products serving millions worldwide. You will own features end-to-end, from design to deployment, and shape the technical roadmap in collaboration with product and design teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, cloud-native design, and scalable APIs, with a 100% remote setup and competitive compensation in USD or local currency.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience with Python.
• Hands-on with AWS Serverless services (Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, API Gateway).
• Strong PostgreSQL and DynamoDB background.
• Expertise in microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform).
• Excellent English communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend architecture on AWS serverless infrastructure.
• Own complete features end to end from design through deployment.
• Design microservices and event-driven systems that scale with demand.
• Define infrastructure as code practices to support deployments.
• Design APIs consumed by web and mobile apps.
• Partner with product and design teams to shape the technical roadmap.
