Sezzle is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to own the evolution of authentication and authorization, focusing on a gateway and identity services. This backend role emphasizes scalable, secure edge services and zero-downtime migrations in a distributed microservices architecture.

You will lead technical vision, drive migration strategy, mentor teammates, and partner with Product, Security, and Compliance. This fully remote role offers world-spanning impact and competitive compensation.

Formación

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in authentication and authorization systems (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT).
• Experience designing or operating an API gateway or auth proxy at scale.
• Proficiency in Golang and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with AI-forward engineering and LLM tooling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field.

Responsabilidades

• Own the technical vision and roadmap for Sezzle’s authentication and authorization platform.
• Architect, design, and build scalable auth services and gateway components in Golang, using AWS, MySQL/Postgres.
• Lead phased, zero-downtime migrations with rollback safety.
• Establish authentication/authorization standards (OAuth2/OIDC, RBAC/ABAC).
• Mentor engineers and drive security, observability, and CI/CD across teams.
