Job summary

Sezzle is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Security Platform, to design, build, and operate secure, scalable services. You will work primarily in Golang and Python on AWS and Kubernetes, owning the event-driven platform and CI security gates used across teams.

You will drive agentic security workflows, automate triage and remediation, and contribute to threat modeling and secure design reviews. This fully remote role offers global impact and continuous learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Backend development experience.
• Proficiency in Golang, plus working proficiency in Python.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven or message-based systems (NATS, Kafka).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling — GitLab CI at fleet scale is a strong plus.
• Hands-on web application security knowledge and ability to fix OWASP Top 10 issues.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate security engineering services in Golang and Python on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Own the event-driven platform between security services (NATS and contracts).
• Integrate scanners, finding systems, tickets, and metrics for end-to-end remediation visibility.
• Own delivery of security gates (SAST, SCA, secret detection, container/IaC scanning).
• Build agentic security workflows and automated triage/verification tools.
• Develop triage-to-remediation automation with context, guidance, and routing.
• Participate in threat modeling and secure design reviews.
• Participate in on-call rotation for services you own.
