Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a Specialist Radiographer to justify, authorise and perform radiographic examinations, delivering a high quality diagnostic imaging service for referrals from clinicians. The post involves supervising Radiographers and SHCSW and providing continuous service for 24/7 operations in catheterisation or interventional radiology labs.

Qualifications

• Registered Radiographer with HCPC Registration.
• Educated to/working towards Degree Level.
• Post graduate expertise in the speciality shows breadth of knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assess referrals for x-ray examinations and authorise general x-ray exams.
• Supervise Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and SHCSW.
• Involve in implementation of radiographic procedures.
• Assess patient condition before and during examinations to ensure best image.
• Clinically evaluate images to determine need for additional views.
• Maintain safe operation of x-ray equipment and troubleshoot faults.
