BHP Chile is seeking a Principal Innovation Product (Leaching) to lead the copper leaching technology roadmap, evaluate new concepts, and partner with assets, technology, and external partners to scale promising ideas.

You will bring 15+ years in copper leaching and hydrometallurgy, strong techno-economic skills, and the ability to shape investment decisions while delivering measurable safety, sustainability, and value.

Qualifications

• Degree in Metallurgical/Mining related engineering disciplines.
• 15+ years of professional experience in copper leaching and hydrometallurgy.
• Experience progressing technologies from concept to implementation.
• Strong business case development and techno-economic evaluation.
• Experience with innovation portfolio management and roadmaps.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication.
• Fluent Spanish and proficient English.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain a Copper Leaching Technology Product Roadmap aligned with asset priorities.
• Build and manage a balanced portfolio of innovation initiatives across the leaching value chain.
• Progress technologies through the pipeline with risk-based learning plans.
• Deliver robust technical, operational, and economic assessments for prioritization.
• Advance technologies through lab, pilot, and onsite demonstration programs.
• Foster collaboration across assets, teams, and external partners.
