Job summary

BHP Chile’s corporate office in Santiago seeks a senior Investment Governance Lead to drive governance across a portfolio of capital investments. You will synthesize technical, commercial and functional inputs into clear investment narratives and deliver decision-ready papers for executive committees and Boards.

You will influence senior leaders, manage governance processes, and ensure alignment with value-based decision making while guiding project teams through complex approvals and risk

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business or Finance is required.
• Postgraduate qualification in Business, Finance or Project Management is desirable.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and align viewpoints under tight timelines.
• Experience preparing governance and investment documents for senior leadership or Boards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and executive audiences.
• Experience with major capital projects and value-based decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate development of investment governance deliverables and board papers.
• Act as governance focal point for capital investments, combining inputs into a clear narrative.
• Support robust investment cases and manage governance processes per requirements.
• Drive alignment on investment intent, including MVS and OW/OWO framing.
• Navigate complex governance and executive review processes to meet deadlines.
• Identify opportunities to optimise value and preserve value across study phases.
• Provide governance guidance and challenge project teams on risks and drivers.
• Facilitate cross-team alignment to support effective decision making.
• Capture lessons learned to improve governance throughout the portfolio.
